Artist, Sandy Drexel, has created a new and exciting Sushi plate she is calling Waves of Strings. The pattern is created with 150 strings of glass reacting and not reacting to each other. Each reaction or lack of reaction make a pattern that is intricate and awe inspiring. Those strips are then manipulated in the glass fusing cycle to make the glass move in somewhat unpredictable ways. The shades of blue and clear make the strips look like the ripples of water. It took 5 hours to build this dish and another 32 hours of kiln time.
